Scholarship due date for dental education program for directors pushed to April 15

The ADA Council on Dental Education and Licensure announced March 19 it extended the scholarship application deadline for the Academy for Advancing Leadership’s Leadership Essentials for Advanced Programs, or LEAP, to April 15.

The extension comes after it was announced the program will now be held Oct. 22-23 in Atlanta due to concerns over COVID-19. LEAP was originally set for May 7-8.

The program is designed to prepare new and incoming directors from advanced dental education programs for the different leadership, administrative, teaching and mentoring challenges they encounter while serving in their roles.

The two-day program is presented by experienced past and present program directors, academic executives and leadership consultants.

Accordingly, the Council on Dental Education and Licensure is seeking applications and sponsoring one director of a Commission on Dental Accreditation-accredited advanced dental education program for the workshop.

The scholarship will be granted by CDEL near the end of June. The scholarship will be in the amount of the AAL tuition.
