CDC dental guidance webinar set for June 3

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is presenting a webinar at 2 p.m. EST June 3 to discuss its updated guidance for dental care during the pandemic.

During the one-hour Clinician Outreach and Communication Activity event, Guidance for Dental Settings During the COVID-19 Response, CDC experts will provide an overview of the interim guidance for dental settings. This includes the agency’s recommendations for resuming nonemergency dental care during COVID-19 as well as strategies for dental health care facilities to optimize personal protective equipment.

The webinar is open to all dentists, dental team members and other clinicians interested in dental care guidance during the pandemic. Presenters include Casey Hannan, director of the CDC Division of Oral Health; Dr. Michele Neuburger, CDC Infection Prevention Control Team, COVID-19 Response; Alberto Garcia, CDC Worker Safety Team, COVID-19 Response; Marie de Perio, CDC Worker Safety Team, COVID-19 Response; and Megan Casey, CDC Worker Safety Team, COVID-19 Response.

It will also be broadcast on a number of social media platforms, including Facebook Live and Zoom (Webinar ID: 161 543 7963) and is accessible by domestic and international dial-in numbers. (Note: The Zoom link will not be live until the minutes preceding the live webinar.)

For those clinicians unable to watch live, the recording will be posted on the COCA Call webpage under the “Call Materials” tab a few hours after the event ends. The webinar will also be available for viewing on the CDC COCA Facebook page immediately after the live event ends at 3 p.m. EST.
