ADA develops COVID-19 Vaccination FAQs for practice owners, employee dentists

The ADA has developed two new FAQs that provide answers to commonly asked questions from practice owners and employee dentists about COVID-19 vaccines.

The FAQ for practice owners addresses such questions as whether dental owners can require their employees to be vaccinated for COVID-19, what type of disability or religious accommodation practices should be considered, and whether or not employers can require proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

The FAQ for employee dentists also addresses those questions as well as who pays for the employee’s vaccination and any related time off, what happens if an employee suffers an adverse reaction, or if they object to being vaccinated for personal reasons and more.

Both FAQs will be updated regularly as new information becomes available. Download both the practice owner and employee dentist FAQs here .

The ADA will continue to monitor developments related to COVID-19 vaccine approvals and administration on behalf of the profession and public. Visit ADA.org/virus for the latest information.
