Mission: The Chiapas Project, an IRS 501(c)3 charity, brings dental and medical care to the Zoque people of Ocotepec, Chiapas, Mexico. No other healthcare exists there. We travel as a group for 1 week, usually in July/August. After 10 years, we are now working towards a permanent healthcare clinic. Volunteers pay their own way as our donors are told that 100% of donations are used for the purchase of medicines and supplies. Dental students from Montreal join us as do physicians, nurses, dentists, and Spanish speakers. Some volunteers bring their older children to expose them to a life of volunteerism.
