As directed by Resolution 521H-2025, the ADA is currently undergoing a Governance and Organizational Health Evaluation (GOHE) conducted by consulting firm Vista Cova.

As part of the GOHE, Vista Cova facilitated a Town Hall in Indianapolis on October 9, 2026 that gathered all stakeholders, including delegates and alternate delegates, state executive directors, state dental leaders, early career dentists, and past ADA leaders, among others. During this interactive session, participants reviewed findings, reviewed preliminary recommendations, and provided direct substantive feedback.
Vista Cova is expected to finalize its recommendations in December 2026 with input from the Governance and Organizational Workgroup (GOW), the group of 21 ADA representatives and other stakeholders advising the firm. The ADA Board of Trustees will then begin consideration of the recommendations in January 2027.
When the Board has completed its consideration and is ready to transmit to the House, the ADA plans to launch broadscale efforts to communicate the full report and recommendations that will be put in front of the October 2027 House of Delegates. Concurrently, the Board and executive director will begin taking action on items that fall within their respective purviews.
In October 2027, the House will receive a final report from the Board that will include the Vista Cova materials and any appropriate resolutions for House consideration.
