Future Meetings

In 2021, the American Dental Association (ADA) launched SmileCon® as a big, bold reimagining of the annual meeting, designed as an offering of inspiration, delight and connection for dental professionals. With the support of so many, SmileCon has become a place where education and empowerment take flight for thousands of attendees each year.

However, the ADA’s meeting strategy continues to evolve, and there is an important change to the future of SmileCon. After careful consideration, the ADA has decided that SmileCon will conclude after our 2025 event in Washington D.C. This decision was driven by changes in attendance trends and rising costs, and we want to further evaluate how best to create meaningful future experiences.

SmileCon 2025 (Oct. 23-25, 2025) and the House of Delegates (Oct. 25-28, 2025) in Washington, D.C. will proceed as planned, as will the 2026 House of Delegates in Indianapolis (Oct. 10-13, 2026).

The Governance and Organizational Manual of the ADA requires that the ADA hold an annual scientific session, and we are exploring new ways to collaborate and serve the dental community through innovative educational and networking opportunities in the future. Updates will be shared when they are available.
