Call for Comment: Oral Cancer Recommendations on Vital Staining Adjuncts

The ADA Living Guideline Program is now accepting comments on the second in a series of oral cancer recommendations. This public comment period invites clinicians, patients, and organizations to share insights and help shape the upcoming vital staining recommendations.

About the recommendation:
This new recommendation is part of the ADA’s ongoing work with the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine (Penn Dental Medicine) to update a 2017 guideline on the evaluation of potentially malignant disorders, including oral cancer.

Feedback will be reviewed and used to inform the vital staining recommendations, which is expected to publish in early 2026.
