Solo/Group Practice Dentist
If you are a dentist working in a solo or group practice, you can apply for tripartite membership (local, state and national).

Postdoctoral/Resident
If you are enrolled full time in an accredited advanced education program, you may be eligible for graduate student membership. Apply for membership if you’re entering a graduate or residency program immediately after finishing dental school.

Federal Dental Services
If you are in active-duty military or full-time federal government service, you can apply for federal dental services (FDS) membership. FDS members pay dues at the national level, but don’t pay state or local dues. You may also be eligible for tripartite membership depending on where you practice.

International
If you went to dental school outside the United States and also practice outside the U.S., you are eligible for an international membership.

Practicing Abroad
If you went to dental school in the U.S., practice outside the U.S. and are not eligible for membership in state or local dental societies, you can join the ADA as a U.S.-educated practicing abroad member.
