10 Under 10 Award
Developed by the ADA New Dentist Committee in 2017, this award recognizes 10 amazing dentists who graduated from a dental school accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation less than 10 years ago. We’re celebrating dentists who demonstrate excellence and inspire others in science, research & education, practice excellence, philanthropy, leadership and advocacy.
Nominations are now closed. Winners will be announced in spring 2021.

Eligibility: Nominees who meet the following criteria will be considered:
- Must have graduated from a CODA accredited dental school less than 10 years ago at time of nomination (between 2011-2020)
- ADA member in good standing
- Inspires others in one of the excellence areas: Science/Research/Education, Practice Excellence, Philanthropy, Leadership, Advocacy
Nominations must be submitted on ADA.org/10under10 by December 31, 2020 to qualify. Nominators will have access to the nomination forms to make any edits until December 31, 2020. At 7p.m. Central Time on December 31, 2020, all nomination forms will automatically be submitted to the New Dentist Committee. Late nominations are not accepted. Nomination forms must be completed in its entirety including uploading the nominee’s CV. Nominators may submit more than one nominee for consideration if desired. Dental associations may nominate someone on behalf of the society. Self-nominations are not permitted.
Current members of the ADA New Dentist Committee are not eligible to receive the award.
Award Timeline and Selection Process: The nomination period is open October 1 – December 31 each year. The recipients are selected by the ADA New Dentist Committee and announced in spring of the following year. For the 2021 year, the winners will be announced in mid-March. The New Dentist Committee considers all eligible nominees. Committee discussions are confidential.
Award Recognition: 10 Under 10 Award recipients will be recognized on ADA.org, ADA News, the New Dentist Now blog, at ADA Annual Meeting and through other ADA channels, and will receive a $1,000 cash award and a plaque. All nominees are listed on ADA.org and in other places.
