Dentists, health care professionals, organizations, and policy makers are invited to share their expertise and insight in support of the development of new guidelines through the ADA Living Guideline program.

Call for Comment: Oral Cancer Recommendations on salivary testing adjuncts

The ADA Living Guideline Program is now accepting comments on the final installment in a four-part series of oral cancer recommendations. This public comment period invites clinicians, patients, and organizations to share insights and help shape the upcoming salivary testing adjuncts recommendations.

About the Recommendation
This new recommendation is part of the ADA’s ongoing work with the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine (Penn Dental Medicine) to update a 2017 guideline on the evaluation of potentially malignant disorders, including oral cancer.

Feedback will be reviewed and used to inform the salivary testing adjuncts recommendations, which is expected to publish in the summer of 2026.
