The ADA Living Guideline Program is now accepting comments on the third installment in a series of oral cancer recommendations. This public comment period invites clinicians, patients, and organizations to share insights and help shape the upcoming light-based adjuncts recommendations.

About the Recommendation
This new recommendation is part of the ADA’s ongoing work with the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine (Penn Dental Medicine) to update a 2017 guideline on the evaluation of potentially malignant disorders, including oral cancer.
Feedback will be reviewed and used to inform the light-based adjuncts recommendations, which is expected to publish in the spring of 2026.
