To help states increase Medicaid participation among their dentist workforces and dental care utilization among their Medicaid populations, the ADA Health Policy Institute (HPI) surveyed dentists and Medicaid beneficiaries in eight states. The surveys measured barriers to going to the dentist and achieving optimal oral health among beneficiaries and barriers to participating in Medicaid among dentists.
The webinar discussed the policy implications of these survey results; panelists explored reforms and changes that are needed to address the gap between adult Medicaid beneficiaries and their potential dental homes.
