West Virginia Dentist Installed as American Dental Association Trustee

CHICAGO, October 19, 2020 — Michael D. Medovic, D.D.S., a general dentist from Wheeling, West Virginia, was recently appointed as a trustee of the American Dental Association (ADA) at the ADA FDC Virtual Connect Conference 2020, a joint meeting of the ADA and Florida Dental Association.

Dr. Medovic will serve on the ADA Board of Trustees as the trustee from the Sixth District, which represents Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee and West Virginia. The ADA Board of Trustees formulates and reviews policies and programs and makes recommendations to the members of the ADA’s governing body, the House of Delegates. As a member of the ADA Board of Trustees, Dr. Medovic will play a crucial role in supporting the ADA’s vision to achieve optimal health for all.

Dr. Medovic has been a member of the ADA since 1980. Since then, he has been a member of the ADA House of Delegates, served on the ADA Council on Dental Practice from 2016 to 2019 and currently serves as chairman of the ADA’s Council on Dental Practice National Elder Care Advisory Committee Subcommittee. He served on the former Council on Annual Sessions from 2006 to 2009, where he was the chair of exhibitor relations for the ADA annual meeting in Hawaii in 2009. In addition to his work with the ADA, Dr. Medovic is a well-known member of the West Virginia Dental Association (WVDA), where he served as president in 2001. In addition to his work within dental organizations and societies, Dr. Medovic has been the recipient of numerous awards, most notably the Dr. Robert B Bridgeman Distinguished Dentist Award in 2019 and the Distinguished Alumnus Award at the West Virginia University School of Dentistry in 2010.

Dr. Medovic began his dental career after graduating from the West Virginia School of Dentistry in 1980. Dr. Medovic worked as a full-time practitioner of general dentistry from 1980 to 2018 and currently serves as a faculty member at the West Virginia University School of Dentistry in the Dental Practice and Rural Health department, as well as a volunteer at the Wheeling Health Right Dental Clinic.
