Letters: Access solutions
November 20, 2017
Dr. Mark Koday hits it out of the ballpark with his comments in his My View, "Access: Only One Part of the Solution," which was published in the Oct. 16 ADA News. His comments are directed at those who suggest that access to care is the cause of so much decay.
Unfortunately, lack of home care, not access to care, is the problem. Face it: Americans are lazy. They don't clean their teeth well. So much of the professional care I provide is prevented with two to three minutes of brushing, flossing and picking per day. Prevention is cheap by comparison to treatment.
